Radiology Tech

Progressive Surgery Center is offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced radiology technician to join the team and help lead a successful surgery center. 

Summary: Provide radiological services with c-arm during surgical/procedural services.

Required Licenses/Certifications: Current RRT license for Michigan. BLS preferred.

Duties include, but are not limited to:


  1.        Demonstrates competence in x-ray technologist skills.
  2.        Demonstrates proficiency in technical skill relevant to area.
  3.        Demonstrates competence of sterilization practices.
  4.        Demonstrates proficient use of equipment.
  5.        Demonstrates proficiency in procedure preparation.
  6.        Maintains established safety, environmental, and infection control standards.  Reports infractions to supervisor.
  7.        Respects patients/introduces self to patient.
  8.        Examines radiologic film for density and contract, definition, magnification, and distortion.
  9.        Effectively communicates center, organizational, and industrial information to staff.
  10.        Attains all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the organization's overall mission.
  11.        Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety,                  center/service safety, and specific job related hazards.
  12.        Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a                professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  13.       Follows the center exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
  14.       Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as the leader of the center team inter- and intra-center to               facilitate the center's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
  15.       Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  16.       Maintains a clean and orderly central processing area (e.g., shelves, counters, equipment). Adheres to sterilization               process policies and procedures.  Ensures that each item is cleaned according to manufacturer's instructions.
  17.       Initiates proper inspection of instruments under a microscope for damage and defect.  Determines whether each item is         in good working condition.
  18.      Follows all policies and procedures when sorting,  arranging, and wrapping individual items into proper trays.
  19.      Correctly operates sterilizers, ultrasonic washer, and other processing equipment (i.e., positions items correctly in                sterilizer, selects proper cycle, seeks assistance when needed)


One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with OEC 9800 C-Arm preferred.

No "call" or holidays, potential rare weekend in the future. This is a per diem position.
